Florida Company Touts Energy Saving Van Partition Solution for Work Truck Industry

Chameleon 2000 to be displayed at upcoming National Truck Equipment Association show in St. Louis.

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) March 2, 2010 — In an economy that demands innovation and cost savings, engineers and product developers are forced to consider new methods for providing the longstanding solutions business owners depend on to support their work. The Chameleon 2000 is one such innovation, and its ranking as a finalist at the recent Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) 2009 Automotive Innovations Awards precedes its upcoming appearance at the National Truck Equipment Association’s (NTEA) Work Truck Show, being held in St. Louis on March 10-12.

Developed in Sarasota, Fla. by Bill McCormack, the patented Chameleon 2000 is an energy-saving take on the traditional work van partition. High density ABS plastic is thermoformed to create the Chameleon 2000, giving the final product a total weight of approximately 30 pounds. This represents a more than 100 pound weight reduction from its metal counterparts, to which the U.S. Department of Energy attributes a 2.5 percent fuel savings. In addition to its energy saving capabilities, the Chameleon 2000 also boasts green qualities – it is 100 percent recyclable and made from recycled materials, which will not corrode or rattle like a steel partition.

“Not only does the Chameleon 2000 offer work vans the advantage of a weight reduction and enormous fuel savings for both large fleets and individual vehicles, but it is also American made and fits the cargo van industry’s most popular models,” said McCormack.

Ford E-Series cargo vans, along with the GMC Savana, the Chevrolet Express and also the older model GM Astro and GMC Safari vans are all able to utilize the Chameleon 2000. The partition is easily installed in 30 minutes with self-tapping screws or double-sided tape and is contoured to follow the curve of the seat back, allowing for both full seat travel and an ideal fit.

Along with its ABS plastic make up, the partition also features a polycarbonate window, which allows for an unobstructed view, and a console, designed to house a laptop computer between the front seats while creating a hollow extension in the cargo area to fully stow longer items and eliminate the need for external racks. In addition to the partition’s green construction and fuel-saving energy efficiency, the Chameleon 2000’s tight seal and impeccable sizing allows for rapid heating and cooling of the front passenger area. This prevents strain on the vehicle’s temperature control systems, as well as reduces cabin noise, fumes and driver fatigue.

In addition, the Chameleon 2000’s construction provides added safety for the driver and passenger from potentially flying objects and creates a secure area when used for law enforcement applications, such as Homeland Security, Border Patrol and Corrections. Telephone and cable companies, municipalities, general trade contractors and delivery services also have benefitted from the use of the Chameleon 2000.

“We were proud to have recently entered the Chameleon 2000 in the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) 2009 Automotive Innovation Awards, during which it was named a finalist and narrowly missed winning the award,” said McCormack.

With the SPE success under its belt, the Chameleon 2000 will make its next appearance at the National Truck Equipment Association’s Work Truck Show, being held at the America’s Center in St. Louis from March 10 through March 12. The display, housed at Booth #4046, will feature a full-size Chameleon 2000 and give industry insiders the opportunity to learn about the innovative product, which retails for $399.

Palm Beach International Raceway Announces the Tire Kingdom 150 ARCA Racing Series Race

Tire Kingdom sponsors ARCA race at Palm Beach International Raceway – inaugural race set for February 27, 2010

Jupiter, Fla. (Vocus) February 9, 2010 — Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) is excited to announce Tire Kingdom as the title sponsor for the February 27 Tire Kingdom 150 ARCA Racing Series race presented by RE/MAX and Menards. As the official tire and automotive service provider for PBIR, Tire Kingdom has full naming rights for this race.

“We’re really excited to partner with Tire Kingdom to bring the first organized stock car race to Palm Beach County, Florida,” said Jason Rittenberry, President and CEO of Palm Beach International Raceway. “The addition of this race to our calendar is solidifying PBIR’s ranking in the motorsports track arena. We look forward to expanding our outreach and drawing national and international events to Palm Beach County. This increased visibility is a tremendous benefit to our sponsors.”

The February 27, 2010 ARCA race date marks the sanction’s inaugural appearance to PBIR and the 12th time that the nationally touring stock car series has contested a road course race. Most recently, ARCA raced on New Jersey Motorsports Park’s 2.3-mile Thunderbolt Course in 2008 and 2009, with a third ARCA race planned at NJMP in 2010. ARCA made its road course racing debut in 1958 at the now defunct Meadowdale Raceway in Carpentersville, Illinois.

“PBIR is an exceptional facility that draws national visibility. The ability to bring the ARCA Racing Series to Palm Beach County is a tremendous asset to local and regional businesses,” said Orland Wolford, President and CEO of TBC Retail Group. “We are excited to be a part of this sponsorship as it is a win-win opportunity for Tire Kingdom.”

Tickets for the Tire Kingdom 150 at Palm Beach International Raceway are available now through www.racepbir.com and all Tire Kingdom locations. Spectators can get a general admission two-day pass for $45. Two day passes for children 6-12 years of age are $25 and children 5 years old and under are free. Adult single day tickets for Friday are $20 and $35 for Saturday. Children 6-12 Friday tickets are $10 on Friday and $20 on Saturday. All $35 general admission tickets will be discounted $10 at Tire Kingdom locations.

“Plans for the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards race at Palm Beach Int’l Raceway have been taking shape for well over a year,” said ARCA President Ron Drager. “Establishing relationships with marketing partners are a sure sign of the potential of the event and the facility, so it’s very encouraging that Jason Rittenberry and his staff at PBIR have signed Tire Kingdom as title sponsor of the Tire Kingdom 150.”

Many ARCA Racing Series drivers have already started preparing for the Tire Kingdom 150 at PBIR. Championship point contender Joey Coulter recently completed an intensive three-day advance road course racing class at the Bondurant School in Chandler, Arizona—the same course that NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stars Tony Stewart, Dale Jarrett and Jimmie Johnson have participated in. Fellow fulltime competitor Tim George Jr. will participate in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in advance of ARCA’s February 27 race date at PBIR. Additional ARCA Racing Series drivers will participate in an open test session at PBIR on Monday, February 8.

The green flag is set to wave at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27 for the Tire Kingdom 150 ARCA Racing Series race presented by RE/MAX and Menards at Palm Beach International Raceway.

Comfort Indicator Ensures Battery Failure is Easy to Avoid

BatteryChargerStore.co.uk, which offers a range of award-winning smart chargers covering cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, now offers the CTEK comfort Indicator, an accessory that provides a simple and immediate indication to the charge levels of the battery meaning battery failure is easier to avoid than ever before.

London, UK (PRWEB) January 31, 2010 — BatteryChargerStore.co.uk, which offers a range of award-winning smart chargers covering cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, now offers the CTEK comfort Indicator, an accessory that provides a simple and immediate indication to the charge levels of the battery meaning battery failure is easier to avoid than ever before.

Using a simple ‘traffic light’ system, the CTEK Comfort Indicator allows drivers to identify the state of their battery without having to go through the inconvenience of attaching an independent battery tester, which can be expensive and complicated to use, or even having to go to a garage for levels to be read. This means drivers can now know when their batteries need charging and therefore avoid battery failure.

The Comfort Indicator’s green light reveals that the battery is fully charged and does not need attention whereas an orange light demands attention and indicates that battery charging is recommended to avoid stratification – a harmful process which reduces the life and efficiency of a battery. A red light indicates that a battery needs to be charged immediately with a car battery charger (http://www.batterychargerstore.co.uk/), not only to be able to start the vehicle but to avoid the danger of the battery being permanently damaged through excessive discharge leading to sulphation – the biggest battery killer.

Peter White, CTEK Sales & Marketing Manager for UK and Ireland, commented: “The Comfort Indicator is a simple but extremely effective device that can be easily and permanently attached to the vehicle battery and lets the driver know the charge levels of the battery at any given time – meaning action can be taken before it is too late. It has also been fitted using the unique CTEK Comfort Connect system that allows it to be attached to the appropriate CTEK charger permitting easy access to the battery for it to be charged”

Whether motorists require a battery charger for cars (http://www.batterychargerstore.co.uk/car.html), motorcycles, boats, lorries or tractors, BatteryChargerStore.co.uk offers a large range of smart chargers to suit every eventuality and need. Unlike traditional battery chargers such as a trickle charger (http://www.batterychargerstore.co.uk/trickle-charger), the CTEK range goes through a number of processes to ensure that the battery is conditioned as well as charged and, that the charger can be left attached to the battery for an indefinite amount of time without risk of over charging and drying the battery out.

For more information or to order one of the CTEK range of smart chargers, please visit batterychargerstore.co.uk or call 0844 815 3600 to place an order.

Tireman Auto Service Centers Fights Recession With Free Tire Repairs and Free 36-Month Road Hazard Warranty

Vehicle owners can take advantage of free services during tough economic times

Toledo, Ohio (PRWEB) January 24, 2010 — Tireman Auto Service Centers, located in Ohio and Michigan, has implemented two new “recession fighters” for tire customers. One new offering, “Free Tire Repairs”, has the attached slogan “No matter where you bought your tires”. Regardless of where you purchased your tires, Tireman will repair your tire(s), “free of charge”. The only stipulation is that it must be repairable according to industry standards. The second new offering protects new tire buyers by providing them with free 36-month pro-rated road hazard warranty protection. Every passenger and light truck tire Tireman sells now includes this new comprehensive coverage, free of charge. Most tire stores charge for both services.

Prior to a company-wide roll-out, Tireman test marketed the free tire repair service at a few of its locations. “Customer response has been overwhelmingly positive,” states Bob Huey, General Manager of their Monroe, Michigan tire center. “Customers seem to appreciate getting a real value right now. They expect to pay, and it’s a real joy to see their expression when they’re told we’re going to repair their tire, free of charge. Our local economy has taken a few hits over the last couple of years and it just feels good to be able to say – it’s free today.” The Monroe, Michigan, tire center has been providing free tire repairs for several months.

According to Randy Jones, President of Tireman Auto Service Centers, they have always offered a “no surprises” approach for their customers. “We’re committed to providing our customers the best tire buying experience possible,” he said. “We have been including mounting, balancing, rubber valve stems, lifetime tire rotations, lifetime alignment checks, and free NitroMax nitrogen inflation for years. We’ve expanded that commitment with the addition of our free tire repairs and 36-month pro-rated road hazard protection. Bottom line, we want to be your tire store,” he stated. Both new offerings were rolled-out company-wide on Wednesday, January 20th.

Established in 1948, Tireman Auto Service Centers is locally owned and provides complete automotive service and a wide choice of replacement tires. Tireman has 15 locations in Ohio and Michigan.

American Recovery Service and Digital Recognition Network Deliver LPR Technology For Automotive Repossessions Through Advanced Servicing Model

License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras aid in recovery of “hard-to-find” cars for leading nationwide automotive recovery firm.

El Dorado Hills, California (PRWEB) January 15, 2010 — American Recovery Service/Skip Busters (“ARS/SB”) and Digital Recognition Network, Inc. (“DRN”) have developed the strongest partnership of License Plate Recognition (“LPR”) technology and a national automotive repossession servicing model in North America.

Combining DRN’s best-of-breed LPR camera solution (“LPR2.0”) and agent Affiliate network along with ARS/SB’s industry leading servicing model and newly developed LPR Accounts Staging Database, the partnership has rolled out this solution to 15 of ARS/SB’s largest national lenders. In the initial startup period, ARS/SB loaded 30,000 “charge-off” skip accounts in the DRN system and recovered approximately 1,000 vehicles for its clients – these recoveries are increasing on a daily basis. Between the real-time camera hits, known as LPR2.0 events, and the historical plate hits based on DRN’s extensive database consisting of millions of license plate captures over the last year, ARS/SB quickly secures hard-to-find assets for clients.

“We felt the time to engage with this disruptive technology was upon us and we wanted to pave the way for an integrated nationwide solution for our clients and agents,” reports Peter Willingham, CEO of ARS/SB. “After surveying the current technology offerings on the market we found DRN to be the clear leader with their systems design and approach to the agent Affiliate network. We are embracing their agent network and advocating to our network of 500+ independent repossession agents to join the DRN Affiliate network.”

ARS/SB and DRN’s technology and operations teams worked closely to implement a unique LPR Accounts Staging Database. This database enables clients to seamlessly supply ARS/SB accounts for LPR management and gain the full benefits of the LPR technology without any involvement in the challenges or details – following the servicing model and benefits they seek from a national repossession firm. ARS/SB provides 24×7 servicing and management staff to facilitate all aspects of the LPR-driven recovery.

“ARS/SB demonstrated a serious commitment to our technology and agent network; the rollouts of our combined solution to their largest clients were executed at a pace that really impressed us. They are leaders in this industry and we look forward to long-term success with them,” said Cort DeHart, President of DRN.

American Recovery Service/Skip Busters (www.PKWillis.com) is the original nationwide repossession and skip tracing firm and the industry leader with its servicing model.

Digital Recognition Network (www.digitalrecognition.net) combines proprietary license plate recognition (LPR) technology, a national network of DRNAffiliates™ operating over 1,000 mobile LPR Cameras across the country.

4 Wheel Parts Goes Green – Launches New Section with Green Performance Products & Tips for Truck, Jeep, & SUV Enthusiasts

4 Wheel Parts gives back to Mother Nature and the off-road community with more eco-friendly products and a Going Green section on their website, offering green tips and more fuel efficient performance products for their customers.

Compton, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2010 – 4 Wheel Parts has launched a Going Green section on their website, including more eco-friendly products and going green tips. As one of the largest distributors of off-road parts in the nation, 4 Wheel Parts is looking towards a greener future and is doing their part to help the environment while being part of the off-road community.

Although most people wouldn’t consider off-roading a “green” activity, 4 Wheel Parts is trying to make it as eco-friendly as possible. The newly launched Going Green section on 4 Wheel Parts provides their customers with more eco-friendly products for their truck, Jeep, or SUV. The Going Green section also includes tips for achieving better fuel economy, reusing products, and getting the best performance from their truck.

Louis Minette, Internet Brand Manager at 4 Wheel Parts says, “Off-road enthusiasts have always had a strong connection with the outdoors, taking some of the roughest terrain that Mother Nature has to offer and conquering it! As the years have passed and legislation has gotten more stringent off-road enthusiasts have had to change with the times to protect their rights to use off-road areas. They realize their impact and work to leave their playgrounds in the same condition as they found it, leaving as little impact as possible. As a friend to off-road enthusiasts, 4 Wheel Parts is taking similar steps to offer our customers the same performance products they crave while reducing their effects on the environment.”

4 Wheel Parts gives their customers useful tips that go beyond the obvious. They don’t just tell you to clean out your car so that you get better gas mileage; they actually go in-depth and provide you with information on how to find your preferred engine operating range (RPM), as well as other useful information.

Even though large pickups and SUVs have taken longer to catch up with the automotive Going Green trend, domestic automakers are making a concerted effort to make these vehicles more earth-friendly and fuel efficient. In concurrence with this movement towards environmental awareness, 4 Wheel Parts is bringing in new performance efficient products to their website and their 4 Wheel Parts stores.

“Whether it be performance intakes, exhausts and tuners designed to increase engine efficiency and fuel economy, economy gauges like the Ecometer from Autometer to keep your right foot in check, or tree trunk protectors when you need a little hand from Mother Nature, 4 Wheel Parts has their eye on the future and is doing their part,” Minette said.

4 Wheel Parts offers a wide selection of fuel economy products, eco-friendly truck and Jeep products, leveling kits, tonneau covers, winches, tires, and other off-road parts. To get more information and learn how you can join 4 Wheel Parts in their movement to Go Green, call 877-474-4821 or visit www.4WheelParts.com.

Boston Sensor Manufacturer Wins 2009 “Electronic Products” Product-of-the-Year Award

Each year, Electronic Products magazine editors select the most innovative and forward-thinking new products introduced to the electronics market. South Boston sensor manufacturer Tekscan, Inc. is honored to announce that its newest sensor product, the High-Temp FlexiForce® sensor, has been chosen among thousands of products as product of the year by Electronic Products editors.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 13, 2010 — Each year, Electronic Products magazine editors select the most innovative and forward-thinking new products introduced to the electronics market. South Boston sensor manufacturer Tekscan, Inc. is honored to announce that its newest sensor product, the High-Temp FlexiForce® sensor, has been chosen among thousands of products as Product of the Year (http://www2.electronicproducts.com/Flexible_high-temperature_force_sensor_opens_new_measurement_possibilities_–_Tekscan-article-poyrc04_jan2010-html.aspx) by Electronic Products editors.

High-Temp FlexiForce sensors are unique because thin-film sensing technology is manufactured using semiconductive inks, silver, and polyester film, which historically withstand temperatures up to about 140°F. Tekscan devoted a great deal of time and resources into developing a formulation comprised of more heat-resistant material, while maintaining a paper-thin profile and highly accurate output. The result was the company’s high-temp FlexiForce sensor (http://www.tekscan.com/high-temp-force-sensors/index.html), which measures forces in environments as hot as 400°F and maintains a highly linear output (±1.2%).

Thanks to their robust configuration, their thin, lightweight profile, and their low-power requirements, High-Temp FlexiForce sensors are useful in automotive, manufacturing, and military applications to obtain force measurements between two mating surfaces. They are available off-the-shelf in a standard shape, size, and two standard force ranges. Like the standard FlexiForce sensor, they can also be customized for high-quantity OEM applications, or for R&D, Test, and Measurement applications which require a matrix configuration for pressure distribution.

Contact Tekscan today to learn more about their force and pressure measurement sensors and systems.
